Cromwell is situated on the shores of the Lake Dunstan,
about half way between Wanaka and Queenstown on state
highway 6. On its eastern side runs state highway 8 leading
to the Lindis Pass, 75 km northeast, and Alexandra, 33 km
south. Cromwell has the appearance of a modern town, but its
history stretches back to the gold rush days of the 1800s.
Visit the 'Old Cromwell' historic precinct and enjoy the
area's vineyards and wineries, fruit orchards and cafes.
Cromwell Speedway is a very popular new addition to
activities in the area.
